LED display should pay attention to effective luminous flux
LED display application is a relatively mature link in the LED industry chain. Only the light radiation within the viewing angle range that meets the information display requirements is the effective luminous flux. In order to improve the energy efficiency of the display screen, the luminous flux that meets the needs should be made higher and higher.
For the LED display, the output is the luminous flux for the audience to watch. However, unlike other photoelectric conversion devices, not all the output luminous flux is useful, but only within the specified viewing angle range, the luminous flux that meets the display requirements is the effective light output of the LED display.
The so-called specified viewing angle refers to the viewing angle range of different types of LED displays specified in the “General Specification for LED Displays” or the viewing angle range required by the contract. Products that cannot meet the “General Specifications for LED Displays” or contract requirements are unqualified, and those beyond this range are waste of energy, not only that, but also cause light pollution.
How to measure the luminous flux? In order to measure and compare the energy efficiency coefficient of the LED display, we use the module as the measurement unit. The module is the basic unit of the LED display, and the large screen is spliced by many modules. Screens may have their own particularities due to differences in the actual working environment. Comparing the energy efficiency of modules will be more scientific, reasonable, fair and practical. It is scientific and reasonable to measure and compare in units of modules, and it is also beneficial to production management.
The LED display module is composed of discrete LED tubes. When viewed from a practical distance, it should be a surface illuminator, but when measuring, it is actually still a discrete LED tube or a bunch of LED tubes. Measure and then calculate the luminous flux.
